Across organizations, AI is no longer experimental or limited to isolated pilots. Instead, it is broadly deployed, widely adopted, and delivers measurable operational benefits. AI has become part of day-to-day work. It is influencing how tasks are completed, how decisions are made, and how workflows operate across functions. Many retailers and consumer goods companies struggle to scale AI, held back by siloed data and pilots that never cross the finish line.

However, while productivity gains and cost reductions are now common, the majority of enterprises are failing to convert these improvements into sustained, outsized financial returns.Based on a survey of 255 enterprise leaders, this report finds that AI is no longer confined to pilots or niche teams:

More than 80% of organizations have 25%+ of employees using AI weekly
Payback periods are short, often measured in months.
Yet only ~41% of that time savings converts into real business value
And fewer than 1 in 5 enterprises achieve ROI above 40%
